Dosbarth Glas

Class Information

Croeso i Dosbarth Glas. My name is Mrs Isherwood and I am one of the teachers in Dosbarth Glas. I share the week with Mrs Quantick. We are lucky enough to have Mrs Edmunds, Mrs Jones, Mrs Wiltshire and Mrs Coyle working with us. Together we make up the Reception Team.

Mrs Isherwood – I have been in Foundation Phase for 2 years and before I taught in KS2. I have 3 children and two dogs which keep me very busy. I have been teaching for 24 years in Catholic Primary Schools and St Helen’s is a wonderful, happy place to be.

Mrs Quantick – I am responsible for leading Expressive Arts throughout our School. I joined our school family in 2016 having previously taught in a Catholic School in London for 6 years. As a teacher, I strive to create a safe, exciting and happy haven of learning and to ensure that everyone is given the opportunities that they need to learn, grow and achieve their best

We are a busy and hardworking class of 28 who have the opportunity daily to access the curriculum through a range of both focussed and enhanced provision both indoors and outdoors.

We are all different and that is exactly what makes all of us so special in Dosbarth Glas. All of our individual personalities and characteristics form beautiful relationships with each other.

We are learning to have a growth mind set whereby we have a ‘can-do’ attitude and we believe that we are able to achieve in all that we do. We are learning to persevere and try, try again, especially if things get a bit tricky.

We encourage all of our children to be independent learners which, although they are young, they are already proving that they are capable.

In Dosbarth Glas, our topics are Myself, Do you want to be friends? Transport and At the Seaside. It is through these topics that we develop our skills in Literacy and communication, Mathematics and Numeracy, Expressive Arts, Health and Well-Being, Humanities and Science and Technology.

Our daily learning also consists of Rapid Phonics, Group Guided Reading, Maths and Literacy which is encompassed by our Catholic ethos and our motto ‘Together we Believe, Achieve and Succeed’.
